I have a 1,300 sq foot ranch-style house with the same square footage in the basement and 8-foot ceilings in the basement also. I would like to heat my basement. I have an ultra high efficiency Carrier forced air gas, model 58MXA, furnace. When I install the duct works for the heat in the basement, should I tap into existing duct work going to a bedroom, or should I run a separate duct work from the furnace where the other duct works start?
