10 yrs ago, bathroom was badly wallpapered right over sheetrock, without a primer. 3 yrs ago, we attempted to remove wallpaper, by peeling off.......impossible. We painted over it with a primer, then fauz finished to hide the imperfections. It is NOW time to get that paper off. Edges and seams are lifting. We are going to use a steamer(rented) and scrape. Our fear is that we will ruinthe sheetrock, which we can patch, RIGHT? And then we want to use a waterproof, or moisture resistant paint.........what do you think??? Thanks bunches

Strip the paper...Then use a 12" filling blade to face fill the imperfections..Rub down. Prime filler..
Line the walls with 1000 grade lining paper and redecorate with a soft sheen kitchin/bathroom paint. Job done!!
