I just got a refurbished Toshiba TN55X81 rear proj. When I plugged it in pic was so-so, so I desided to do a ( point convergence on it. Somwhere in the middle of the seting up the convergence TV clicked and the picture became HORRIBLE.
RED, GREEN and BLUE are allover the place, separated, picture is concaved from top to the middle and from bottom to the middle with everything distorted. I tryed turning TV off for the whole night, leaving it on for few hours and run the convergence again, but it does not even show the + sign to do the convergence. ANY help would be greatly appritiated.

If you were using your remote control to do the point convergence, you pressed the wrong button by mistake. In short, you negated all convergence data in the unit. Don't feel bad! I've made the same mistake, myself, a couple of times. And, you are right! The picture looks horrible!
The only thing you can do is start over from scratch and do a full convergence on the unit. It will take a LOT of adjustment but will eventually fall back into place.
