I bought an old cabinet at a garage sale and removed the antiqued maroon paint from it to find beautiful wood underneath. I plan to use the cabinet in my kitchen (microwave, mixer, etc on top) and storage inside.
I've used Danish Oil to finish it and am wondering whether I need to put Polyurethane or some other protective finish over it. Thanks!

singerk,
Danish oil or tung oil are not much protection alone for any piece of wood that is going to receive some use. A coat or two of poly will give much more protection and any spills can simply be wiped up. Read the other post here on the cherry table for sanding 'lightly between coats.
