Hey Guys, I built a house a few years back and the noise transfer between floors is terrible. It's almost like a drum the way the sound is transferd. The insulation company used fiberglass batts between the floor joists, which are 2" x 14". Is it possible the batts aren't thick enough to fill the gap. If so can insulation be blown through the upstairs subfloor. I'm almost tempted to tear out my subfloor and redo everything. Any advise would be appreciated.

Seems to me it would be hard to blow extra insulation in between the joists... especially if the insulation was installed at the underside of the first floor and not at the bottom of the joists next to the basement ceiling drywall..
You might call a local cellulose installer and see what they can do... information and estimates are usually free..
