I need to replace the existing vinyl floor in my bathroom.
When I attempted to install a layer of Luan I discovered an existing tile floor unde the existing vinyl, making it impossible to nail down the Luan, of course.
Being intrigued by the tile I proceeded to tear up the existing linoleum only to reveal why the previous owner decided to cover the tile floor in the first place.
So, I now have a mess of a floor with partially removed vinyl, partially exposed tile, and some exposed mortar patch.
Question, How do I cover the mess up to provide a smooth, hard surfaced underlayment for the new full spread sheet vinyl flooring?
Is it possible to glue Luan down effectively?
Do I have to flash patch the entire surface?
Please Help.
