Installed a nice fiberglass tub/shower surround 4 years ago over newly installed moisture resistant 1/2" wallboard BUT now it is popping loose on all sides. The wallboard went up nicely and was primed. The larger surface is an outside wall. Room has vent fan and air conditioning duct. Any ideas why this be happening? and what can be done about it?

Most folks use liquid nails when installing shower surround. You did not indicate what type of adhesive you used. Is it possible to peel back the surround and apply liquid nails. If you have a problem with the surround coming unglued, you will develop moisture problems behind the surround and mold/mildew. Your problem need to be attended to ASAP.

Adhesive was supplied with surround kit from Swan. As I recall there were two types, tape and tubed. May be able to pull back and apply more adhesive and caulk but got feeling it needs to be completely redone. Of course then it won't want to come off. Thanks for your reply
