I have not posted anything on these forums for a while, but A few of you know me, anyways after working for a company for 18 months, I was downsized today, Terminated, and just 2 days ago my boss asked if I would mind working out of town again, (of course I said "no problem") then out of the blue, because I am one of the highest paid Employees, I get the boot, with a severence pay, he claimes it was a "Hard decision to make" but none of the other regular Installers are making close to what I am making, Part of that is my mistake for leaving the service department and going to installations about 6 months ago, Oh well, that companies loss I guess. He said in the "meeting" they were going to ask if I would take a Pay-cut, but after deliberation they figured I wouldn't stand for a $3.00/hr. pay-cut, DUH!. anyways, I think the company is going downhill anyways, one low wage employee got it 2 days ago (helper) and my boss claims 2 more will need to go to, 50% lack of buisness, and the other 50% is because he couldn't afford to pay me $14.00/hr. I'm sorry, but that is B.S., and part of me hopes this company goes belly up. Now that I got that off my chest, time to get working on my Resume.

I don't know your locale, but in ours (Arizona), this has been a hungry year. Sales are down and the pricing is down. That makes it tough to survive. A number of experienced contractors here have reduced staff by 50% in the last 12 months. I expect to see some longtime competitors fail in the next 6 months.
The wholesalers confirm what I see locally and report low sales statewide. The econmomy itself here seems strong enough. There are too many contractors and moonlighters bottom feeding. The weather has been milder than usual as well.
We are doing well enough because we sell high end work. Even then we have to scratch to keep the sales moving and to make the phone ring. Our sales are even up slightly.
Send me a resume when ready. I'd like to know more about you. Participating in this forum shows me something that I like.

Thans Lynn, :)
I live in Blacklick, Ohio although living in Arizona would be nice, I could not re-locate there, but I will send my resume to you anyways.
I may take an Electrician Apprentice Job, who knows?, my options are open now that someone decided to take my job from me.I am concerned about how secure my next job will be, cause my wife and I "WAS" I repeat "WAS" going to try and have another Child.
See ya

Yeah I understand that, But I feel like I've been done wrong, very wrong. I've only been in this Buisness 18 months, did my job, did it well, never missed work, and had alot of customers ask for me, m biggest mistake was going into th installation dept. in which Nobody came near my salary. oh well, I'll do something. I have a few things in the works. I don't want to leave this Field, I guess I'll survive with a small pay-cut, and wait on having another child. but this time of the year beleive it will be somewhat difficult, see ya later
