built a deck over the summer for above ground pool. one of the posts (4x4 pressure treated) has become warped ABOVE the deck. the top is now a good 3-4 inches out of plumb so the railing sections attaching to it are now also out of whack. is there a way to straighten it? i was thinking of cutting a notch in the post just above the deck (where the warping starts) about halfway through the post and forcing it back to plumb. i would then fill in the resulting gap where i made my cut. would this work? any other ideas?

Dave,
Don't even try. You'll never achieve what you want to do.
The only way to "repair" warped wood is to simply replace it.
Good Luck! Mike
