I'm tiling an outdoor porch and steps, using this discussion board and a couple of books as a guide. So far so good; frostproof tile, concreting, leveling etc. until the tile arrived. I had ordered bullnose for the front edge of the steps. The apparent problem is that while the regular tiles are a comfortable 3/8" thick, the bullnose is only 1/4". Otherwise the pattern is OK. Now, before I go to do battle with our friends at HD, I would like to know whether there is perhaps a good reason why the bullnose tiles are thinner. Help, anyone?

OK, the type is OROPESA made by CERACASA Ceramica in Spain.
The invoice says, for the 12.5x12.5 tiles, "Q0128 010 MARRON", for the 6x12.5 pieces "Q4441 Listello 010 Marron" and for the bullnose "q444# 010 Marron Bullnose". Interesting that all but the bullnose says "made in Spain" on the back. The bullmose says "made in U.E."
If as I suspect I'm stuck with this bullnose or nothing, I'm wondering whether I could just use cut tile for the front edge, cut at say a 45 degree angle. I can't just use the tile edge since it's wavy.
Thanks for the interest.

Unless I missed something (it happens), you should be able to use the bullnose by simply buttering a little more thin set under it to bring it up to the level of the tiles. Don't know what U. E. means, except that Spain in Spanish starts with E. Espania.
