i would like to know how to calculate the angles for a triangle that has 3 sides of differnt lenths like one side 6in , 12in ,18in.

Err, the measurements you gave would not form a triangle. Either shorten the 18" or lengthen the 12" or the 6".
If you're still hard pressed about the angles w/those measurements then the angle between the 18 and the 12 and the angle between the 18 and the 6 would be 0/360 and the angle between the 12 and the 6 would be 180.
