How would you suggest straightening warped boards? I tried a crow bar but couldnt really get it to bite. I used a chisel and had better results. this all seems too time consuming.

Don't bother trying to straighten them. Simply replace them and hope the new ones don't warp. Sorry -- wood is stronger than nails, and once the boards start to bend, the nails won't stop it. Screws are better, but wood will snap the screws too.
