I am refinishing an oak table that has a black freckled appearance over the upper surface only. I have stripped it down and have sanded it but the stain remains. I have also tried bleaching without success. Does anyone know how I should procede? Thank you.

If you used a household bleach, the results you got would be expected. I would suggest oxalic acid. If you've already used this product, I don't know what else to try.
