I want to install a toilet and a sink in my basement. The main drain line to the septic tank is right next to where I want to install the fixtures. The sink I believe won't be a problem, since the height of the trap will allow me to plumb down into the side of the main drain. But, how do I plumb the toilet drain into the main drain?
Thank you for any advice.

Without knowing a lot more detail about what you're specifically working with, that is very difficult to answer.
For illustrated how-to info, go to "Build/Remodel" above and click on "Bathrooms".
That should give you a good deal of basic information on drain/waste/vent systems.
Good Luck! Mike
