Right off the bat or after it runs for a few minutes? If it acts up right away the motor may be going bad or the motor run capacitor is causing the problem.Have you tried placing the fan switch on tstat to on?Does fan run okay at this point?PDF

If I turn the fan to just fan, the motor runs without a problem. It only does its thing if it is on heat. I'll hear the unit heat up but the motor kicks on then off after only running for about two seconds. It will kick on and off till I shut the unit off completely. Even if i turn the tstat down below the current temp the motor will continue to kick on and off.

Yes, it is gas. And I beleive it's a 94 or 95 Miller unit.
