you mentioned that watering a condenser (subcooling i assume) causes bubbles in the sight glass, why? the only answer i can come up with is that the refrigerant is so condensed that it reduces the volume that much?

Basically you are dropping the temp of the liquid which decreases the pressure.Same thing a TXV does.Out of the TXV you go from a high press/temp liquid,to a vapor because of the same pressure drop.On large refrigeration units that incorporate a fan cycling control,the sight glass stays clear,the condenser fan motor cycles on...but before it cycles off the sight glass will flash.A word of mention...ever put your high side gauges on and see the needle jump like crazy.System over charge.No more room to condense.PDF
