I am laying tile in my master bath. I have pulled my comode

A toilet has its own trap, so stuff a rag into the drain line, and don't forget to remove it before re-installing the toilet.
If your bathroom floor is over a basement or crawlspace, lay the tile up around the toilet floor flange, and raise the flange to set on top of the tile level. Cut the drain line and use a Fernco coupling (rubber boot with two large hose clamps) to extend the line to raise it.
(Use a masonry bit to drill anchor holes for the flange in the tile.)
If the bathroom is on the second floor or on a slab, you can double up the wax seals to compensate for the extra depth of the tile flooring. Use a wax seal with a plastic sleeve for the one on top.
