Currently we rent a house that is in fairly good repair, with the exception of the bathroom floor. The subfloor is warped from years of water leaking from the shower, and as a result, the vinyl tiles are breaking.
I am searching for a solution to the problem that does not entail removal of the old floor, as my skills are somewhat limited.
The less expensive the better.
Thank you for your help.

If your landlords won't repair it properly (cutting out and replacing the warped flooring), then they might reimburse you for the materials to create level flooring on top of the old.
Use pressure-treated plywood, and shim it level. Use filler in the cracks and to smooth out the surface as best you can, and lay new vinyl tiles over it.
This isn't the best way to do it, but it will work.
Good Luck! Mike
