Exterior stain... I currently have two colors on the house now. One for the trim, the other for the siding. I want to be sure the wood is protected, although the color seems fine right now.

I was originally going to put another coat of solid stain on. But then I got to thinking… That is going to change the color isn’t it? Even if I did a transparent color it would still change the color somewhat correct? Or would a solid stain over a solid stain not change the color like I think? I dunno, never done it before.

Are there colorless latex stains that I can put on over what I have?

There are really no transparent colors that you can use over a solid color stain. If your solid is fading, failing, or you want to change the color, use another solid color stain over what you have(after you have prepped the surface properly). Is all you want to do is protect it?....it is probably already protected, unless it is peeling. What is your objective?

Your right. I examined the wood pretty closey and I did not see a reason to stain it again just yet. But I did see some places that needed to be caulked again.
