I'm going to install some insulation under a floor in an older part of my house. The floor joists are logs planed on one edge to support the subfloor planks. They are not evenly spaced- some 18 inches, some 26. I've seen some wire products to hold basement insulation up but since nothing here is standard, I'm not sure what I'll do.

I was thinking of simply ripping some 2 by 4's into strapping and nailing them up under the insulation. Is this a bit mickey mouse? What would you do?

Thanks

Derek
