I love the look of old french country armoires but can't afford an old one. I have ordered a new one in unfinished pine and am looking to get that old world rich finished look. What kind of stain, finish and or distressing techniques should I use? I don't want the piece to look new but I am hesitant to beat an expensive piece of furniture with a chain! HELP!!!!!!!!!

Frenchcountry:

My apologies for taking so long to get back to you. I've been having some problems with my PC.

hile French Country has a definitive look, there are as many different ways to approach your task as there are refinishers.

If you could provide one or more websites that show pictures of what you're trying to achieve, I'll take a look and we can work out how to get from where you are to where you want to be...
