I am repainting my wood trim around the outside of my house. I have used special brushes made for trim and sponge type brushed and I keep getting the stroke marks in the paint. No matter how little or how much paint I use. I would like to know how to get that smooth finish.

One thing that you could consider is to use a pad instead of a brush. I have had good luck painting my house using a pad. One can buy small pads and large ones. It may take a little practice to get used to it but it should take care of your brush marks and by using a pad, you can control the amount of paint that you put down. Good Luck
