John,
thank-yopu for your help. I am putting ceramic tile ina small entry way, I found a piece of black marble floor tile that has all the right colors in it (12x12 tile)and was going to use it as a accent in the floor. It's a small enrty way so one tile is perfect for my needs. Lucky for me with the expense of marble tile! I am a painting and finish contractor so I have some knowledg of what to do, but I've never put marble down and just didn't want to have a problem. (Didn't want the wife to yell at me eitherha ha ha)
How about sealing the raw edges,would that help?

I wouldn't worry about the one piece. Just do it.

I need to get you to do a faux finish on me. Gettin' kinda shakey looking around the edges. :D
