I am currently replacing the floor in my small bathroom. The subfloor is concrete, and has been cleaned of adhesives and other "stuff". In planning the layout of the tiles, do I need to allow a certain amount of space between the tub and the first row of tiles?
I am also using cove tiles instead of baseboard, is there any special "rules" that need to be followed for the cove tiles

Leave a narrow 1/8 in. joint in front of the tub and caulk it after the grout has dried.

It is better to put the base above the floor tiles. This will allow for movement withough showing a crack.

Do you recommend caulk or grout for between the cove and floor tiles?

Grout it. Set the base right on the floor tiles. When the grout cracks out, you won't notice it.
