Hi all,

My bath tub is orignal to the home. The home was built about 45 years ago. I have a silngel sotory with a crawl space below to the sub floor to the whole house. I want to replace the tub but have no Idea on how to remove it. I am perty handy. I have alerady replace all but the tub. If anyone can help I wuold appreaciate it ver much.

Break it up, if you can. Or take apart as much of the tub as you can and remove the door, casing and framing around the door if you have to. I know you were hoping for something more elegant.

I removed a cast iron tub today by breaking it into small pieces. It took only about 45 minutes with a 8 pound hammer. Sure beats taking out a wall. Email me at johnn10ec@hotmail if you would like to see some pictures of the removal.

Most folks I know take a hammer to it. Someone told me they used a saw. That sounds like to much work. Wear goggles and roll up your sleeves. Best regards.
