I have the tools, but this is not my bag. Want to build an octagon flower box from treated 2x10's.(on edge) Should the angles be 45deg? Also to make it 6 foot how do I determine what length to cut each board?
Thanks.
Thanks.

darrell,
You are correct, the angles need to be 45's. Your lengths will need to be 3 feet each. Whatever joint you decide to use will most definitely require some type of bracing. Yhe weight of the soil, especially when wet, will put considerable stress on the joints.

Assuming that you want to butt the ends together for the joints, the cuts on each board should be 22.5 degrees and the long side should measure 2',3.5" for an approx. 6' diameter ocatagonal.
Cutting your angles at 45 degrees at 3' lengths on the long side will give you a 3' square box when you butt the joints together.

Darrell,
Bazooka's right, my mistake. I was thinking square instead of OCTAGON.
Thank's Bazooka,
