It's me again. I seem to be doing better with minimizing the lap marks on smaller areas, like the drawers. I've had no luck with the larger areas such as the sides of the dresser.
I've sanded and repainted until my fingers were no longer speaking to me. I've tried thinning the paint a little and experimenting with a variety of brushes.
I also decided to leave the laminate top as is, since it is quite close to the color of the paint.
My husband is hardly speaking to me because this is monopolizing so much of my time.
Any additional suggestions??? Anybody???
I was wondering if TAW had any better success.

Elm:
Found what may be a clue in what you wrote. You said you're having no trouble with the drawer fronts, just the larger areas.
Sounds like you're trying to make the same amount of apint you used on the drawers cover a larger area...in other words, over-brushing.
You might want to try laying the piece on one side, so the other side is horizontal. This way you can really lay the paint on, leave it alone and let it flow out - painting this way virtually eliminates runs.
