Help, I am at the end of a major remodle project and now have to tackle the fireplace. The chimney is open from bottom to top{no cap or damper}. It is a masonary fireplace and some of the bricks have fallen from the base of the fireplace. I have no idea where to begin. If anyone can offer advise or prayer please do. I'm going to need it.

Fallen from the base?
Inside the firebox? On the facade?
You can buy a masonry blade for a circular saw to cut the mortar around the fallen-out brick, and then just re-mortar them back in place (with the same type of brick).
Good Luck! Mike
