Can tung oil be used on outdoor wood furniture?

George is correct, but the tung oil doesn't last as long or protect like some other choices may. If the furniture is pine, cypress, cedar or PT lumber, your best choice would be a penetrating oil stain which repels water and has UV protection - exactly what a deck needs. Most all outdoor wood will weather to a silvery grey. The oil stain will inhibit the greying process.
