We have removed the pop-corn ceiling from one of our bedrooms. We now want to finish the ceiling with a technique called "skip troweling." Our living room ceiling has this finish and we would like to uniformally use this method on the ceilings throughout our home. Can you please explain how this finishing method is accomplished?

Hello
Sorry it has taken so long for some one to get back to you....Hope you have completed the project...but here goes any way.....You use a topping mud that has been thinned down
to a heavy pancake batter....using a wide mud knife pull the mud over to the side of the pan and just lay the knife on the mud and lift it off...this lets the mud hang...now just lay the mud on the ceiling and drag off the mud do not touch the ceiling with the knife just the mud this will leave some areas with out mud and others with mud let the mud dry untill you can drag your knife and just knock down the high spots....It take a little practice but I know you can do it.....If you need more help on this just let me know....Good Luck
