We removed our old vinyl bathroom baseboards. Before replacing with new ones, do we have to remove all of the residue from the old adhesive? If so, how do we go about doing that?

If you scrape it with a stiff 4" scraper, you gotta be careful not to overscrape and gouge your new linoleum
I would say, load the glue on the back of the new and place
gingerly in position over the old glue.If a gap is created as a result, try and make it gap in a consistent manner
But keep the cove nice and consistent along the floor
Leave overnite, and caulk any gapping with a suitable coloured caulking
