I want to paint my kitchen floor. There is a subfloor, a sheet of vinyl and vinyl squares currently on it. Does anyone have any experience with removing the vinyl flooring and or painting a subfloor, preparation or finishing would be most helpful. My plan is primer, color x2, varathane x3 or x4.

Mermie, I may be wrong(LMK) but I doubt that the subfloor will be fit to paint after you get down to it. There is usually a very tough glue with some backing left in it. If it is OK do use an oil primer and it sounds like you have the rest of the plan. Good Luck and get back if any questions.....Mike
