What type of wood is good to use for making radiator covers???? ie. hold up under high temps.

Almost any wood type would do. A good idea would be to store the lumber near the radiator so that the wood will climatize to the area. Also keep in mind the method of joinery used wil have a direct effect on whether or not your boards split from drying out further.
