I just put in a beadboard ceiling on my covered front porch. It is bare wood right now and I am wondering if there is a special no drip stain or sealer I should use.
Is there any special staining technique I should use?
Thanks in advance.

I live in a condo, and want to build a deck in my patio area. The patio doorwall step is only 5 inches above the ground, leaving no height for a proper deck. Is it possible to build a deck that sits on the ground? It wouldn't need to be attached to the house. With a firm enough frame (4x4) can this be done?

The ground has extremely heavy clay so there's no drainage, and anyone I know who put in a nice brick patio or even poured concrete has eventually had the ground shift and ended up with a very uneven patio or cracked concrete. A deck is the best solution.

Thank you.
