I was told, today, that reynolds wrap or a similar aluminum foil, weaved between the studs and over a thin layer of insulation will control sound between walls better than most other remedies. Any truth to this? It doesn't make particular sense to me, but, oh well. Thanks for your comments.

Hmmm, haven't heard of using aluminum foil this way. Most likely it was the insulation that did most of the deadning.
