I have a 1400 sqr ft 2 story house built in 1910. Not an attractive floor plan, never the less it needs exterior paint. I am capable doing it my self but hate painting with a passion. Not that I wouldn't if it was drasticly cheeper. I am curious what it would cost to contract out as opposed to doing it my self. I want a 2 color sceme not your typical white or gray. Maybe sandstone with blue or green trim. I am capable of putting vinyl siding on but have not yet committed myself to the expence.

DKFreese, My best advice to you would be to take your time and get about three honest bids and ask a lot of questions of your bidders. Ask for step by step as to what they would do to your home and with what. Compare all and decide what its worth to you to DIY....Mike
