We have a pressure treated deck that is 8 years old. We have always used Thompson's waterseal on it. This spring we decided to stain it. Since that time we have had white spots appear after a rain. Mostly the spots come close to a knot hole mark. How can i stop this from happening?

Those white spots are a build-up of the Thompson's that you have been putting on. Knots are extremely hard wood and Thompson's (or any other sealer) will simply not penetrate it.

Joe,
Lefty is on the right track. You should have stripped the
waxey Thompson's before you tried to apply a stain. If there is any kind of water beading on a deck, it needs to be stripped before staining.
