In our bathroom we have trouble with our toilet tank "sweating". The drywall at the bottom of the tank has started to bubble and become discolored. Is there a way to repair the area without ripping out the whole wall? Once it is repaired or replaced, does anyone know of a product that will help to keep the new drywall from absorbing the moisture (we painted with a paint specified as being for bathrooms)? Thanks.

Wet drywall is a mess. You probably don't have to tear out the whole wall. Just treat it as a very large patch.

Are you saying that the condensation is dripping to the floor and then being absorbed by the drywall from the floor?

If so you don't want the new drywall to be touching the floor. Let the baseboard cover the gap at the floor.

YOU CAN COVER THE DISCOLORED PART WITH A STAIN SEALER
TYPE PAINT. FOR A TOP COAT YOU CAN USE A "MILDEW PROOF"
TYPE OF PAINT USED IN BATHROOMS.

We have a cabin that is on a well. With the water being so cold that go's into the toilet tank - it was also sweating like crazy. I found a tank styrofoam kit at Lowes that helps prevent the tank from sweating. hope this helps
