We recently purchased a house that has the old-fashioned radiators. A kitchen, roughly 13' x 8' was added onto the back of the house. It is open to the living and dining rooms that both have radiators in them. My question: is there a way to determine the amount of heat that is generated by certain size radiators? (heat volume=size of radiator?) I would rather not keep the baseboard heating system in the kitchen due to the installation of base cabinets which will be installed right in front of the baseboard. If I should keep the baseboard, how do I go about installing the base cabinets?
