I have a Rheem Central Air unit, and each year since it was new (3 years) I have had to have it recharged with R-22. The last 2 times, the service tech said that it had a small leak at the service caps, which they repaired. They can find no other leaks. Why does my freon leak out every single winter?

Your leak is probably on the low or suction side of system. With modern day leak detectors it should not be hard to find. The leak is from the original install.More than likely at suction line at air handler,at condensing unit or a piping joint.PDF
