I am going to be removing an interior wall on the first floor in my home. It is load bearing and I will be installing a laminated beam to support the load etc. etc.

The question is: There are four heating/AC ducts and three cold air return runs running up this wall from the basement to two of the bedrooms (3 heat, 2 cold air returns), bathroom (1 heat) and hallway (1 cold air return) on the second floor.

What is the best way to re-route these? The outside walls are insulated, so I can't use them.

i think the best thing you can do is get a plumber to look at your proposed project and have him tell you what your options are. then you can decide if rerouting them is something you want to do yourself.
