I need to replace about 27 square feet of concrete sidewalk. What is a good mix ( cement, sand, stone, water)
This will be about 1/3 of a 'yard'; can this amount be delivered ready mixed? If not, whats the best mixing method?

Normally the smallest amount that can be delivered is 1 cu.yd., but it is usually at a premium running approx. (depending on local prices) 150 dollars. Some concrete companies have carts that you can rent, you buy the concrete premixed and tow it home with a cart. Not a bad idea if you live fairly close to the ready mix plant and have an extra person or two to help you. Mixing by hand is another option. Mixing the stone, sand, water, and cement in proper proportion is one way, but then you usually have to rent a mixer to do this. Not a bad idea just a little more labor intensive. You can also just use ready mix concrete in the bag, just add water. You can mix up the amount that you handle at one time, and work at your own pace. Each 80lb. bag will cover just over 1/2cu.ft. Just a little incite for ya. Hope it helps.
