Kitchen Aid Cooktop Model # KGCT305BWH 1, Front right control knob is not working. In off position, gas is still open and leaking out. Control knob no longer controls anything except the starter still clicks. Need to know what part is bad, the switch or Valve?
Automatic Garage Door, When closing the door stops in process and comes back to up position. Have checked screws, bolts and trigger for safety switch but none are being effected. How important is alignment and how can I check and adjust this myself?
Thanks,
Football

Hello football and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliance forum.
Regarding the stove top, most likely the valve is damaged or defective. In that instantance, the valve should be replaced. The part is not repairable.
Check the local phone book for the retail appliance parts store. Take the make model and serial number with you and the part if possible.
Be sure to unplug the electrical supply and turn off the gas prior to attempting any do-it-yourself repairs. You may also want to contact the gas supplier for assistance.
I am not able to help you with the garage door problem. You will need to ask the question in the appropriate forum.
Also check the archives in both forums for prior postings and replies to both questions.
