I have a cbs house and I want to put a framing around the windows and door, a popular style down here in south florida. The borders are usually 5 to 6 inches wide and about 3/4 inch thick made out of stucco. Can anyone help with this? And is it possible to just put a wood frame up around the window and cover that with stucco? This may clarify the last thread I sent.

Really, the modern day rendition is a foam product. Typically it coated with EIFS or 'synthetic stucco' to
match the exiting stucco (real or synthetic). Since I was unaware of a specific name, beyond structural foam, I asked our construction supplier if he had a line on a Florida supplier. This is a Florida supplier http://www.foamfactory.com/indexb.htm

I am well aware of the fact that you're convinced that you want to do real stucco. Basic execution steps have been outlined, but there are considerations beyond application. Real stucco cracks. If it's rigidly attached, which it will be, it is subject to the stresses of building movement. Authoritative books on stucco, the proper name is "portland cement plaster", have been written. The PCA http://www.portcement.org/ is an old, well known, and respected source.

Personally, I don't think stuccoing a wood frame attached to concrete block is a good idea.
