I have to make an arch with 2x4 frame and drywall.
The arch will be in a room entrance (with no door) that is 46 inches wide. The ceiling is 8' and the top of the arch would be at 7'. The curve of the arch would be something less than a semi-circle.
I would to know the best way to frame it and to get drywall into a curved shape on the underside of the arch (kerf?).
Thanks,
John

I did something similar and spaced the kerfs 3". I would suggest 2" (which I will be trying on my next one). This would (I hope) eliminate some of the mudding necessary to make a very smooth arch. With the 3" kerfs and some mudding, it looks great, though.
