I am attempting to install a couple of preassembled glass block windows in my basement to prepare for winter. I was told by a worker at HD to take out the frame of the old window and chisel away the concrete so that the glass block window would fit (I have already done this part). Now I have about 1/2" on both sides of the window and about 1/8" on the top and bottom.
His next bit of advise was to mortar the window in after shimming it and making sure it's level. My concern is will the mortar "attach" itself to the concrete? I want to window to have some integrity and not fall in once the mortar sets. Does this sound correct or can someone suggest what I should do at this point. Thanks in advance.

Thats how you do it. Buy yourself a sack of mortar and a putty knife.
