I want to do a brick walkway from the front door to the driveway. Is it best for long term to lay this in a sand base pounded down and sanded in etc or have a solid concrete walkway below and put the pavers on top and mortared in?

I would recommend using a sand base for dranage. A concrete base would not allow water to properly drain away.
