I had new windows and a new patio door installed and the contractor had to remove the aluminum trim around them for the new installation. How easy is it to install new aluminum trim since my contractor doesn't do this type of work?

Explain what you mean when you say "aluminum trim". Are you talking about coil (sheet aluminum with a colored finish on it) that was bent and installed to trim out the windows and doors, or are you referring to a "J" channel that is used with aluminum siding?

Not the J channel, the trim around the doors and windows.

Call a couple of vinyl siding contractors and get estimates for them to make and replace the trim. Coil is a bit tricky to work with and have it come out right, but that's not the problem. It requires a brake to bend the coil to fit, and I doubt that you will find one at a rental center. Just not enough call for them.
