hi a friend and i are building some french doors with side window panels out of jatoba (brazilian cherry) we have never done doors before much less french and we have a Q about how to make the jams and hang the doors. how does the structure look to hang these doors?

The jamb for a french door is just like any other door jamb, only wider. May I suggest that you build a "test" unit out of $2.00 a foot pine and work the bugs out BEFORE you start in on the $50.00 a foot jatoba (might be a bit off on the actual dollar amounts, but I think you get the picture!!)
