Hi All,
The small hose that connects to my hose reel came off. The plastic end came unglued. What kind of glue should I use???
I had the same thing happen to a decorative "bunny" sprinkler and tried E6000, and it wouldn't hold. That still needs fixed.
(Should I have posted this on another forum???)
Thanks,
Gami

Gami,
If the small hose part just came off and isn't broken,
try some silicone cement(Dow Corning or GE). It's strong enough to hold large aquariums together, and once affixed, you won't be able to pull it off.

Thanks, Fred! :) The plastic is still intact. I'll get some tomorrow. I have another hose reel on the other side of the house, and it's clamped together. Obviously, clamps are the best way to go.
It should work on the grandkids' bunny sprinkler also. Right now it's just a decoration. I thought it might be the water pressure, but when I turned it down as low as I could and still have watering spewing out, it blew.

Gami,
Sure, if there is a nipple the hose connection slips over a 1 inch hose clamp will do the trick. And, used with the silicone, there's almost no way they will leak.

Hi Fred,
Sometimes I have a hard time explaining myself. The hose reel that needs glued can't be clamped. This is the second year for it, and the glue came undone. I left it outside all winter, so maybe that's why.
I've had the other one that's clamped for 5 yrs. and it has never leaked. I paid less for it too. Go figure! :)
Thanks,
Gami

Well, I feel real silly! My hose end didn't need to be glued. You just pop it back in, but make sure you get it in so it's secure and doesn't fall out!
It's a Better Homes & Gardens brand, but I noticed Sears were made the same way if that happens to anyone else. Luckily, I was going to clean off what I thought was old glue, and noticed it was grease, or I would have put glue in the hole. Duh! Sometimes I wonder!
